BENEATH THE COVERS

I wrap my arms around you,
and I can't tell
if this warmth
is from you,
this blanket,
or my heart.

I hold you against me,
and I can't tell if this
thump thump,
is because I'm happy,
in Love,
or near you.

I hold your lips against mine,
and I can't tell if this elation is
because you're with me,
because you're kissing me,
or because I am
where I'm supposed to be.

Had written a lot of poems about "missing" or "imagining" holding her in bed.
So decided to write one about actually "being" with her in bed.
I don't really like the ending; didn't come out as well as intended.
The title was because "I wrap my arms around you, beneath the covers."
Though was not intended as the title, and I may not keep it as the title.
