PLACES
by Black_Aphrodite
Joy and wonder; gilded cup yields to me its nectar
Halcyon days, a burst of stars to herald my Presence
Skimming the water’s surface, the delicious Thrill
Traveling along my nerve endings
Traveling without moving
Anger and sorrow; bitter brew acid bile choking me
Stormy nights, harsh twisting winds to tear away at me
Braving the Hurricane, the ferocious punishing Blizzard
The stench of Fear and Dread trickling down my spine
Traveling, traveling
Places both near and far beckon.
Shall I answer the call?
Do I dare not to?
