Fire and Brimstone

One day I was sitting under a tree.
When all of a sudden a thought came to me.
I asked him "Why in my life,
I have suffered so much pain?  
Why in my life it constantly seems to rain?
He turned to me and said
"I can't make a diamond out of air
or without lots of care"
"You came from flesh of my flesh
And bone of my bone.
I had to make you out of fire and brimstone"

Her

She's so beautiful, white and pretty.
If you know where to look,
You can find her all over the city.
When you and her are together
The feeling is oh so rare
You and her hand in hand
Things go on but you don't care.
After a while, life becomes a blur
But you won't let go, you have to have her.
After you go down and everyone
Leaves your world
You've lost it all,
But you still have your girl.

Comfort

It could be the way you sleep
It could be talking on the phone
It could be staying up late at night
Or it could be hiding out and staying home.

It could be knowing that you can agree
To disagree, and there will be no fight
It could be watching the way she walks
Or it could be listening to her talk
But you love comfort

Silence

When you walk through crowds of people
And you hear - silence

When you turn the key and it's dark at home
You become restless and you go out
And you start to roam - in silence.

You get a phone call, but it doesn't last long
You turn over in bed, and wonder
What is wrong - in silence.

The days turn into months
And the months turn into years
And you panic, and hide behind all
of your fears - in silence.

A Kiss

The first time you kissed me I started to cry
Because I was becoming a woman,
And the little girl in me had to die.

You were my world, I opened my heart.
I gave you my blood, breath, and life from the start.

After all the pain, the fights, and all of the rain
I had to pack and go
But you made me a woman and this I know
And you taught me the power of a kiss.
