Country Music Quilt
My first impressions of Country Music was not very
impressive when I was living in New Zealand,
there was not alot of music played on the radio or TV
and when it was it was well before the more
recognised singers today. It was when I took up
linedancing in a big way that I really started to
notice the beat, the words as well as who was
singing that my love for country music grew.
I found that the lyrics were sung of real life and
I could identify with.
I joined a couple of Country & Western Clubs and took
my turn singing with the band, which I really
enjoyed as I have a great love for music and
play, piano, keyboard, organ and guitar.
Since coming to the USA I have not found much in the
way of linedancing as it seems to have died out
here in this area of Oregon and I have not heard
of any Country & Western Clubs. I have attended a couple
of times to kareoke where there has been country music to sing to
which is quite good but not really the same pleasure.
