Thank you dad for being there,
when I was growing up.
I remember the day you surprised me,
with a little baby pup.
I remember your hands had call uses,
from working hard all day.
But you just kept on going,
bringing home the pay.
Thank you dad for being there,
when I became a teen.
I was hard to handle,
I was down right mean.
But you always understood me,
you knew what I was going through.
And you always took the time,
to tell me "I love you".
Thank you dad for being there,
on my wedding day.
I saw your eyes fill up with tears,
when you gave me away.
Thank you dad for so many things,
you're the apple of my eye,
And I will love you my dear father,
until the day I die.
