A Transgendered Journal

I am not going to try to convince you that this is a good website, or that I am a good writer. I am more building this site for me than for any of you. I am Devan Sebastian Brooks and I am a FtM (Female to Male) transexual. But please don't think that that is all my life is about. I am also a college student,a poet, a drag King (well for the moment), and a good friend. I am saddened by the websites I go to where the only thing people talk about is how they are transgendered and how sucky their lives are. That's all well and good, and one way to go about letting the world know you are trans, however I prefer to let you know more about me than just want my "gender" is.

I grew up in a suburb of the Minnesota Twin cities. I have lived here for most of my life. I have always had homosexual tendencies; but it wasn't me. I had always felt more male than female. I had always wanted to be GI Joe or Super Man, I hated it that people always wanted to make me into this super freaky girlish person. My mother insisted in dressing me in dresses, my grandmother insisted in buying me make-up throughout my teenage years, and my family has been pretty accepting of Gayness, but not very accepting of my transgenderedness.

When I was in my early teens I began to write, well to say the least, really crappy poetry. But as the years progressed the poetry kept getting better and better. And I just kept writing it, you see, the way I look at life everyone writes peotry every day of their lives, some are just better at putting it on paper. I have gotten good at putting it on paper. Later on (once I've learned alittle bit more about creatin websites) I will put some of my work on here, however the only stuff I will put up is copywrited, so don't steal it or you will be caught and prosectued! :-) Alright, for now that is all I have, come back often to learn more about me.

I want to mention a few people before I kick this website into action, my Friends: John Arrowsmith, for whom I owe a lot of gratitude for helping me learn HTML and how to make this page, and for inspiring me to be me, Sean, who also helped with the website and helped me come out of my shell. Then on to my family, My sister Bonnie, who hasn't seemed very accepting but has recently told me she still loves me. My Brother Brian, who is still My little Bud. My mom and Dad, for whom I would not be on this earth (no matter how screwed up it may be). Thank you all for your love and support! I will try to put more pictures up, however, my scanner is down, so it may take me some time. Please be patient!
