Nightlife
The light is shining so brightly in my face that I can hardly see
But I love the night
The moon dimly brightens the sky just enough to enjoy nature's beauty
It's so serene,
I mean the claming sounds of the crickets chirping,
Over the loudness of the cars driving by on the street
It gives me peace sometimes just to know
That though I can't hide under the night's cloak
I can still escape into the night
I'm right outside on the porch, I know
But it's like an escape to me
Because out here I don't fight or argue or hear the negativity inside
It gives me peace sometimes, the night that is
To sit out here and shoot the breeze
To breathe fresh air and listen to the sounds I love to hear
Just to look into the trees
I feel at ease with no worries at all
Just as relaxed as I can be
I am alone to do what I please
No one judging or bothering me
It's just me
and the chirping crickets
and the cars driving down the street
and the cool breeze that flows through the trees
as the bright moonlight that shines in the sky,
It gives me peace, peace that i can only find when I escape to the porch at night
