Topic: New Chords Postings
Already well-known as a producer of major music artists such as Peter Gabriel, U2, Robbie Robertson and several other Canadian bands/artists, in 1989 Daniel Lanois launched his own career as a recording artist with his debut album Acadie.
Atmospheric singles "Still Water" and "The Maker" became well-known Lanois classics, as did "Jolie Louise."
The briefest track on the album, "Under A Stormy Sky", recalls a time from Lanois' childhood when his grandfather's farm was sold and Lanois relocated with his mother and siblings from Quebec to Hamilton, Ontario. While he refers to the song as a celebration, it also has a bittersweet tone, reflecting the changes happening in his life, contrasting the happy and the sad, rural and urban, and the French and English languages. Lanois talks about the song in this short video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9_UdYbzLxk
The chord chart includes tablature for the guitar solo and the fills in the second bridge.
