A POPULAR MYTH There is a popular myth about the ostrich burying its head in the sand whenever it senses danger. This is of course just a myth. The truth is that the ostrich would put its flat head on the ground as a means of camouflage or to protect its eggs by covering them. In these last days, we also have a popular myth circulating in christendom -- KJB/Masoretic/TR Perfectionism, also known as VPP (Verbal Plenary Preservation). 1 Timothy 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
