There is so much talk about the latest revival in Lakeland,
Florida, I decided to start my own webpage
on the revival craze. My plan is to provide scripture and links to
articles, showing that Todd Bentley's
revival is counterfeit, and that Todd is a false
prophet. This is another dangerous event,
leading many people astray, and away from God.
If you are confused, but really want to know the One, True, Living God,
then do what the Bible says -- Call on
the name of Jesus, ask Jesus to forgive
your sins, repent,
confess your sins, and confess that Jesus
is Lord (Romans 10:9-10), and that He was
crucified, buried, and resurrected from the dead, and lives forever.
Read your Bible
everyday. Memorize scripture,
at least several Bible verses each week. Find a rock-solid church,
where the people practice the fruit of
the Holy Spirit
(Galatians 5:22), especially self-control;
that believes in the Bible, teaches the Bible, preaches the Bible; with
people who are down-to-earth, sensitive to people's needs and hurts,
and provides sound, Biblical support.
Counterfeit Revival, What Does The Bible Say? -- Some people just want a quick fix,
rather than dig into the word of God for themselves. The Bible warns us
that many will come as false teachers:
Matthew 24:23-27, “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo,
here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false
Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders;
insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you,
Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret
chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east,
and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of
man be.”
We must learn to rightly divide the word of truth -- 2 Timothy 2:15,
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." We need to dig our heals in, and plants our roots of faith deeply ....
Some people would make the accusation that we should not expose false
teachers, or even say their name! Listen to what the apostle Paul says:
"But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more
ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and
Philetus are of this sort, who have strayed concerning the truth." (2 Timothy 2:16-17)
We are called to discern, and to use sound judgement, and to warn
others about the wrong teachings of false teachers, prophets, and
evangelists. We are living in perilous times .... so many people do not
practice sound judgement, but are quick to follow after the latest fad,
whim, craze, excitement, or whatever you want to call it. Lack of
discernment is causing many people to fall away, having itching ears
.... This is what we are seeing happen.
2 Timothy 4:1-4, "I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus
Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His
kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season.
Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the
time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according
to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up
for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the
truth, and be turned aside to fables."
It's amazing how so many people in the United States, where religious
freedom abounds, could be so illiterate when it comes to the Bible!
When I was a new Christian, of less than six months, I had to move to
another work for temporary work assignments. I met new friends, found a
church to attend, and soon found myself attending night meetings with a
group of so-called Christians. For a short time, I was sucked into a
cult (The Way International), but I knew that something wasn't quite
right. How did I know? Because I had been reading and studying the
Bible daily. I had already finished reading the entire Bible in only
five months. I had been saved in a church that was well grounded in the
word of God. God provided a way of escape, and I soon went back home to
my regular work, never to return to the cults.
We must hide the word of God in our hearts -- Psalm 119:11, "Your word
I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You." There is
no quick fix for Christians .... Walking with God takes hard work,
years, thousands of hours of dedication to reading and studying His
Word, praying, fellowship, learn to practice self-control, the fruit of
the Holy Spirit: Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."
What we see with the false revivals, such as the recent Lakeland
Revival with Todd Bentely, is not Biblical. People are looking for a
quick fix, being led astray, like sheep to the slaughter. There is no
sound discernment. These waves of false revival are shallow, and
hurting people. Many people are losing their faith in God when they are
not healed, or are only temporarily healed.
There is no such thing as "Bam, bam, bam," and you are healed!! Do you
really thing that Jesus and his disciples went around hitting, kicking,
pushing, blowing, punching, waving, people to get them healed? Obviously the
answer is "No." That is not from God. Where is the conviction of sin?
Where is the fruit of the Holy Spirit, which includes "Self-control?"
Todd Bentley is a counterfeit, and the Bible warns us of people who
will come in the name of God, and if possible, even deceive God's very
elect!!
2 Thessalonians 2:9-11, "The coming of the lawless one is according to
the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and
with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did
not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for
this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should
believe the lie."
Beware .... This Lakeland revival, and other similar revivals, are
false, demonic, and only open up the doors of hell!! Todd gave his
testimony about how he was demon possessed while he was a Christian!
How sad, that anyone would be mislead by this false prophet. Christians
cannot be demon possessed. Todd is most likely still demon possessed,
and leading many people into the world of the occult.
We don't need annointing from Todd's angels. The only annointing we
need is from God. God is the Most Powerful Spirit in the universe! God has promised that He will give us His Holy Spirit. We don't need another spirit!!! Why
would anybody want to seek after another annointing? Calling angels to
come, as Todd Bentley does, is demonic. The angels he sees are not from
God Almighty, but rather are angels of Satan.
My heart grieves, along with brother David Wilkerson, when I hear of
another false revival ..... leading many people down the path of
destruction. Come to the cross of Jesus, and be set free from your sin,
once and for all. Run to the arms of Jesus .... Quietly read and study
the Bible. Find a rock solid Bible believing church, with believers who
are grounded in the word of God, and practice the fruit of the Holy
Spirit with self-control.
These false teachers who go around making people laugh, are only
mocking God, and making the Holy Spirit look like a fool. We need to
weep for America .... I see nothing to laugh about when I look at the
suffering people in this world. There are people right here in the
United States dying from all knds of medical issues. Thousands are
homeless, including many children. People are hurting, suffering from
divorce, abuse, financial trouble, depression, addictions .... That is
nothing to laugh about!
Todd Bentley is a false teacher, prophet, evangelist. He claimed that God said Jesus would appear bodily, on the stage, at the revival. He claims to have met the apostle Paul, angels, and Jesus in person. Todd's visions and manifestations
are not from God, but are from Satan. There are so many things wrong
with Todd Bentley .... We need to get into the word of God, like never
before, and be prepared to fight the good fight ....
Put on the full armor of God -- Ephesians 6:10-18, "Finally, my
brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on
the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles
of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the
heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may
be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your
waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and
having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being
watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the
saints."
Counterfeit Revival -- More on Todd Bentley: Todd claims to have seen several angels
now, one called "Promise," that will bring people financial prosperity,
and another angel called "Emma." Bob Jones has also seen this angel
called Emma. Todd has seen another another, not named, that carries the
"Winds of Change." This angel carrying the winds of change is
supposedly the same angel that played a part in the healing ministry of
William Branham. Another angel Todd
Bentley speaks of, "Angel of Finance." Who is getting rich here? Todd
Bentley also tells of another angel he had seen only three times so
far. This angel will visit the children!!
Deuteronomy 18:10-12, "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his
daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an
observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a
consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all
that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD..."
2 Corinthians 11: 12-15, "But what I do, I will also
continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who
desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of
which they boast. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers,
transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform
themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according
to their works."
Test the spirits -- "Beloved, do not
believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God;
because many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1)

Why do so many people fall for false teachers, false prophets, and
false evangelists, hook, line, and sinker? The Bible gives us some
insight concerning this phenomena, as we read in:
"Matthew 13:1-23, "1That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. 2Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. 3Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9He who has ears, let him hear."
10The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?"
11He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 13This is why I speak to them in parables:
"Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand. 14In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
" 'You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.'[a] 16But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17For
I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see
what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not
hear it.
18"Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19When
anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it,
the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This
is the seed sown along the path. 20The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21But
since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or
persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. 22The
one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who
hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of
wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. 23But
the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who
hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a
hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."
