I just got home from WV. Sharon, Mom, and I had such a good time together. We took Mom up to Twin Falls Resort for three days, then stayed the rest of the week at her house. Twin Falls is her old stomping grounds because her grandparents used to own the land that is now the state park. Her log cabin school is up there too.

We stayed in a nice suite. It was on the corner of the lodge and so it had a sliding door on one wall and wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling windows on the second wall. The view was spectacular. There were beautiful trees and since we were on the side of a mountain we looked down onto the golf course and a small lake. One morning we looked outside and a deer was just outside our sliding door. We must have seen 40-50 deer in the three days we were there. Two evenings ago we went out to get some hot dogs and on the way back to the lodge we looked down at the golf course and four deer were eating the grass and a baby deer was running from one adult deer to the next, then it would scamper to yet another deer. It was so frisky...like a little puppy playing tag..

Mom said while we were at the resort that it was the most relaxed she'd been since Dad died. We had such a good time that we decided to reserve the same room for next Memorial Day weekend. She really needed to get away from the house. I'm so glad we decided to do that. I can tell she's aged in the past year...but she's as much fun as ever. .

She broke down and cried twice while we were there. The first time was when we were at the resort and she was talking about my and Jimmy's anniversary coming up day after tomorrow and then she told Sharon that she was almost an anniversary baby because Mom and Dad's anniversary is August 14 and Sharon's birthday is August 15. Then she started crying and said that it just hit her that she and dad won't have another anniversary. Then when we went up to Dad's grave she cried really hard and talked to him and to God and asked Him to not make her wait much longer to go see Dad. We're all healing slowly, miss him terribly, and are looking forward to seeing him again someday. In the meantime, we've still got each other and all of our wonderful friends and relatives who mean so much to us.
Love, Karen (posted for karen by viki)

the medicinal properties of apple cider vinegar
I mix 2teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with 2tsp. water, drink it down quickly, chase it with carbonated beverage then drink a glass of water. It boosts your immune system. I also put it in my pet's water bowl since its good for them and helps repel fleas. Some people use balsamic vinegar on their salads daily for health reasons.
Read about the medicinal properties of vinegar. Vinegar is an old time home remedy that really delivers relief when you need it. It is a weak acid and has been used as a medicine/antiseptic for thousands of years. In the year 400 B.C., Hippocrates, the father of medicine, used vinegar to treat his patients. This naturally occurring germ killer was one of the very first medicines.
plug "health benefits of vinegar" into your search engine to read about it. Also read about its cleaning properties, a natural antiseptic and an excellent alternative to chemical cleaners. The smell dissipates after it dries. I wipe down my kitchen counters with straight vinegar.

Cancer News from Johns Hopkins: no plastic containers in microwave, no water bottles in freezer, no plastic wrap in microwave. doing these things releases cancer causing dioxins into your food. Such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and
soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. They say it's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

Someone sent this to me so I'm passing it on.
May today there be peace within.
May you trust your highest power that you are
exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities
that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of
God.
Let this presence settle into our bones, and
allow your soul the freedom to sing and dance.
