Scott's House of Books: The year was 1978 and Scott was one frustrated computer scientist. Computers, up until '78, were multi-million dollar machines used solely by experienced engineers in mega-corporations. However, in 1978, the world's first personal computer was invented. Yet despite the ushering in of a new generation of computers, there were still precious few resources for computer information. Sure, there were hobby magazines for the hard core home computer enthusiast, but no user-friendly books aimed at regular folks who were interested in learning computer technology. Sensing that computers would become an integral part of everyday life, Scott took it upon himself to create San Diego's first computer bookstore focused exclusively on user-friendly books covering a myriad of computer technologies. Today, over 20 years after first opening, Scott's House of Books continues to be Southern California's leading computer book retailer. We invite you to check out Scott's House of Books.
