Kori Leppart-Butts Multi-media Artist
I am a multi-media artist, I sculpt Art doll figures, create hand-made teddy bears, and do Native American beadwork and leatherwork. I started making teddy bears in 1990, I had great success at that and sold them throughout the Northwest. Then, in 1997, I discovered polymer clay. I started sculpting art doll figures and loved the new freedom of expression. After making my third doll, "Lizzie", she was published in Contemporary Doll Collector magazine in the September 2000. issue. As well as these, I now make Native American style beadwork and leather crafts, including reproduction beadwork. "Lizzie"

This doll was inspired by the painting "Girl in a straw hat', by Mary Cassatt, one of my favorite artists. She is 14" high with a hand-made silk wig and acrylic eyes. Mixed polymer, she is fully jointed at the shoulders, hips, knees and neck plate. This doll appeared in the September 2000 issue of "Contemporary Doll Collector" magazine. PRIVATE COLLECTION
