Tug ABC 296152

This webpage is dedicated to my new pup, Tug ABC 296152. Tug was born July 23, 2006 near Susanville, California. He comes from a working home and both his parents are herding dogs. In fact, Tug's dam, Hannah, qualified for the National Sheepdog Finals this year.

Tug is 8 weeks old today. He came to live with us just one short day ago. I read everything I could get my hands on about Border Collies and joined several email lists to learn more about the breed. Understand, this is not a breed to go into lightly. I intend to keep a diary of Tug's growing and learning. Hope you check back often to see how things are going.

Border Collie puppies were made to never be still. I've learned that in the 36 hours that Tug has been here.

Tug isn't the only dog here. We have two Labradors. Chief is 14 and Zip is 5 years old. Zip (black) has been wonderful with Tug. They hang out together and I even caught them sleeping side by side.

Tug doesn't go after the frisbee but will lie and watch Chief and Zip.

Although the old man, Chief, doesn't really care for the new kid while they are inside the house, I managed to catch the two of them together today.

Guess who forgot to turn the water tank off and flooded part of the corral today? Tug got his paws dirty for the first time.

This is the position that Tug gets in every time I throw the frisbee for Zip. As soon as Zip starts running back to me, Tug will jump up and chase him. Future sheep dog in the making maybe?

This little stinker already knows his name. I snapped this photo just as I called out to him.

Made it through the first day.
