The term philosophy comes from a combination of the Greek words philos meaning love and sophia meaning wisdom. So to me philosophy is, about loving to think about thinking. It explores the way we think and reason and challenges the assumptions that strengthen what we may think we know about the world, or at least what we think about.
Now I understand that philosophy is a difficult academic subject, but who says it has to be so damned academic? If we look at the real meaning; love of wisdom, then aren’t we all armchair philosophers so to speak? Well In my case I call myself the wheelchair philosopher. I think therefore I am. I take pictures therefore I am.
