Because
By Happy Parker

I am in a wheelchair, because 25 years ago I broke my neck in a diving accident.
I was told that I had about 20 years before my body would start to shut down,
now they tell me 30. So I hope that you might read this,
BECAUSE IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY.

I wake up before 6am, I take my meds so I can get up and going.
BECAUSE IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY.

My aide gets me out of bed so I can shave my face, brush my teeth and comb hair.
BECAUSE IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY.

At 7:30am I leave for work, I hug my son, kiss my wife and say I love you to them both.
BECAUSE IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY.

At my job I answer phones, do my paperwork and take care of most complaints.
BECAUSE IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY.

After supper I help my son with his homework, he reads and then we watch some TV.
BECAUSE IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY.

It's bedtime now so I hug my son, kiss my wife and say I love you to them both.
And just before I go to sleep I wonder what tomorrow might bring?
BECAUSE -- I HOPE -- IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY.
