BAND BIOS

TRACY BLUME
Band Leader/Vocals

Tracy has been singing since the age of three with her debut solo “I'm a Lonely Little Petunia in an Onion Patch”. Tracy studied opera at the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid, Spain and she has a background in musical theatre, jazz/pop ensembles and production.

In addition to managing and performing with Jazz in Blume, Tracy also hosts the weekly JazzExpress Jazz Jam at the Crazy Fish and she's the “girl singer” for the 19 piece Stardust Big Band of Sequim, Washington.

Tracy's vocal range along with her infectious joy in the songs that she sings makes her a true delight.

RAY WOOD
Guitar/Vocals

Ray knew at an early age that he was going to make music his life's work. Born and raised in Port Orchard, Washington, Ray's exceptional musical ability playing guitar, bass and piano, took him all the way to the Far East in the 50's and 60's playing guitar for stars on their way up and on their way down. He's played with Guy Mitchell, toured with the Coasters and many more.

Ray's hot licks and showmanship delight audiences everywhere. You can also hear Ray with the gypsy jazz band “Hot Club Sandwich” and the 50's rock n roll group “Rhythm Rockets”.

JIM ROSAND
Piano/Bass/Vocals

Jim has been playing professionally for over 43 years. His rare and unique style of playing the bass line with his left hand and the piano voicing with his right make him a hot commodity. Jim was drawn to jazz early on because of its complexity and intricate harmonization. He loves to improvise too which lends itself beautifully to the jazz idiom. The magical artistry and sensitive interpretation of the music Jim plays never fails to entertain the audience.

Jim's musical credits include “Opus”, “The Vibratones” “Manteca”, “Wally and the Boys”, and of course, “Jazz in Blume” and the “JazzExpress Jazz Jam”.

TOM SVORNICH
Drums/Vocals

A Puget Sound native, Tom brings more than 30 years professional drumming experience to the group. Starting out as a self taught rock drummer, Tom eventually studied jazz and jazz drumming while in his twenties. Since then, Tom has worked up and down the west coast from Los Angeles to Alaska with numerous groups including blues greats Albert Collins, Charlie Musselwhite, Issac Scott, and regional favorites like The Magnetics and The Fabulous Fenderskirts, to name a few.

Currently, Tom plays with Jazz in Blume, as well as The Reflections, One Night Stand, Rollin' Waters, and smooth jazz artist Lee Pence.

ED DONOHUE
Trumpet/Flugelhorn

Ed Donohue went to Central Washington University where he received a B.A. and Masters Degree in Music Education and Trumpet Performance. Mr. Donohue is presently teaching at Stevens Middle School in Port Angeles, Washington where he teaches beginning band, concert band, wind ensemble, jazz band, and jazz combo.

Mr. Donohue has toured with jazz groups “Abraxis” and “Manteca”. He has also performed with and backed up the following musicians: Clark Terry, Ethel Ennis, Mark Murphy, Phil Woods, Joe Williams, Bobby McFarrin, Greg Adams, Bobby Shew and Shelly Mann.

Ed's style and individual sound take the trumpet to a new level.

ROGER BLUME
Sound, “Diva” Manager

Roger is a retired airline pilot who is on a quest for peace and quiet. Unfortunately, his wife, Tracy Blume, has other plans!

Roger is a tireless supporter of Jazz in Blume. From transporting, hauling, setting up and running the sound for the group he also has the dubious task of assisting the “Diva” in selecting her attire for each engagement, driving her to all their gigs, waiting patiently for her at the end of the evening while she “chit chats” and good naturedly participates in the shows when Tracy is in need of a “prop”.

The band appreciates his devotion to the music!
