"On Motion of Thomas Conway Sr., who made oath according to law and who together with Richard Price, his security (Surity) entered into and acknowledged their bond in the sum of $100 conditioned as the law directs. Certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of administration on the estate of Elizabeth Kennedy (dec'd) in due form."

Note; Thomas Conway Senior was the father of Mary Elizabeth Kennedy. Sarah and Bettie Conway were sisters of Mary's. Pricilla Conway seems to have belonged to a younger generation.

Richard Price, The Conway Surity, was the same Richard Price who sold David Kennedy 50 acres of land in the year 1790 and 100 acres in 1799.

1888 - John Kennedy, age 93, died on 17 Aug of "old age". His parents were David and Nancy Kennedy. The death was reported by his son, J. F. Kennedy. [WHO is this John??]

August 27, 1798.
Survey for Commodore Mitchell Kennedy 300 acres on Dry Fork of Bull Run, April 21, 1855. (Russell County Survey book No. 1, page 375). Note: Wise County at that time was part of Russell County. Wise became a county in 1856.
A survey for Captain John Smith, the number of acres nor date given. David Kennedy and Captain John Smith were neighbors and intimate friends. The friendship had continued since the days when Captain Smith served as Lieutenant under David Kennedy when the latter was Colonel of the County Militia, in Augusta County, Virginia.
THE KENNEDY FARMS
For disposition of the 100 acre tract left by David Kennedy, see Russell County Deedbook, Page 2, year 1822. I quote in full: "An indenture of bargain and sale of 100 acres, south side of Copper Ridge on Beck's Branch, from John Kennedy, James Wilburn, and Mary Kennedy Wilburn, his wife, to Martin Knigfong was acknowledged in court to be their lawful act of deed." So Passed the 100 acre tract of land from David Kennedy. What became of the 50 acre tract?

David Jessee to Parker Smith, 1838, Washington County, 60 to 90 acres.
Parker Smith to Andy F Hendricks, 1846.
Andy F. Hendricks to Dale Carter, 1876, 400 acres, Jessies Mill Branch.
Wiley Jessie, Present Owner (about 1940) lives on Jessie's Branch about two miles from the Fincastle Road, or three miles from Lebanon, Virginia or four or five miles from the old Court house.
