I am sending you bits and pieces of copies I have had for some

time. One copy is apparently from a letter written by a Lee Kennedy

Biles, 9600 East Bexhill Dr., Kensington, MD 20795. The letter is not

dated and I think that some of the pages are missing. It is to a Ruth?

My copy is poor and would not recopy very well, so I'll attempt to

retype pertinent data re: James Kennedy.

James Kennedy born 1735, died 1Oct1825 was James Sr., brother of John

Sr. (1730-1813) and Dr. Joseph Kennedy (1st resident physician of

Mecklenberg Co., North Carolina. He was married twice: Elizabeth

McClary (McCreary/McQuerry), mother of his 1st children: James Jr.,

John, Mary Ross, Hannah Patterson, and William. His last wife,

Elizabeth was mother of Andrew, Robert, Elizabeth King. I am not sure

where the division is as I do not know when the first wife died or he

married the second. He is my gggg grandfather.

On another page he continues: Note: I didn't name all of the

children: There were the Baptist Preacher and stone mason Samuel Kennedy

who married Rebecca Pickleshimer; Robert Kennedy who married Betsy King;

Elizabeth Kennedy who married John King; Andrew A. Kennedy married Mary

Bates; David (Wells-David) Kennedy married Peggy Faulkner; Joseph

Kennedy married Sally Nicholson; Francis Kennedy married Mary Brooks;

Thomas Kennedy married Polly Young; William Kennedy married Dolly

Thompson; James Kennedy married Mary Denny, and are my family; Mary

Kennedy married Hugh Ross; Hannah Kennedy married Thomas Patterson; and

John Kennedy married Barbary Gordon. James, Wm., David had only one

wife. Some of the others may have married others also.

He continues, and I am making an assumption that Lee is masculine,

with his descent from the Denny Family which includes the marriage of

Mary Denny to James Kennedy, Jr. Mary b. 2Feb1783 and died 25Jan1864

in Marshall Co., TN, married James 16Feb1796 in Madison Co., KY (I'm

sure that this part of Madison Co. became Garrard Co. The next year)

James was b. 1777 in NC and d. 20Oct1837 in Marshall Co., TN.

I am giving dates where I find them: Andrew A. Kennedy

(20Nov1793-28Jun1863), Mary Bates (8Oct1792-29Nov1867).

There is more data on some descendants of some of the children of

James,Sr., but I will have to sort them out. I'll try to make that

another mailing. As to the b. and d. dates for James,Sr., this is how

listed in the Paint Lick Cem., Garrard Co., KY. (Age 90 1OCT1825)
