Civil War discharge for John A. Kennedy, son of John Young Kennedy, grandson of Thomas C. Kennedy, and gr grandson of James Kennedy Sr. of Garrard Co. Ky.. John served in the 15th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry as did his younger brother Robert Kennedy. John A. Kennedy was born in 1845 in Cedar Co. and died in 1917 still in Cedar Co.. John A. is the grgr grandfather of my wife Jean Ellen Baumgardner Aldous.
