Our mission is to unite and educate students about the issue of global warming, and to turn that education into personal, political, and social action.  Why? Because global warming is an issue that is widely recognized, but also widely ignored. We feel like people don't realize the urgency of the situation, but by no fault of their own. Once the facts are laid out and the public truly comes to understand the implications of our current attitude towards energy, we strongly believe that people will do the right thing and work towards a solution that will ensure the future of the earth for our children and our children's children. We have faith in people, but we need to act now, and our mission is to help inspire this action whenever and wherever possible. Our kids need this. Our world needs this. It is within our power to solve.

That's the serious stuff. Now here's why we're different:

Some people will say that you shouldn't mix business with pleasure, but we chose to shun their advice when forming this group. Yes, we get stuff done, but we also have a good time doing it.

Our promise to you is this: we will do everything within our power to make being a member of The Mendota Concern something that is meaningful and fun at the same time.
