TENTION
Metro Detroit’s Tention creates music that runs
the gauntlet of hard, alternative, and grunge rock. After
home recording an early 12 song album, playing local shows,
and building a solid core of fans, Tention began working
on a five song demo with producer Rob Muccino of EQS (Engineered
Quality Sound). Upon completion of the demo, the band
began touring local notable bars such as The Emerald Theatre,
The Hayloft, and The Bullfrog.
Over the past 7 years, founding guitarists Chuck Kemen,
Steve Shaheen and drummer Kyle Branum have grown together
musically creating an emotional hard rock sound that has
been compared to distinguished bands such as Stone Temple
Pilots, Nickelback, and Theory of a Deadman. The addition
of lead singer Matt Heger in 2004, the heart of Tention’s
hook-laden, dynamic vocals, began a song writing revolution
for the band and they haven’t looked back since.
And with the recent joining of bassist Sam Baiz, the band
has found the strong, punchy bass lines they had been
looking for.
While writing and recording is a large and exciting part
of this band, Tention remains solely dedicated to bringing
the crowd to its feet and providing a great sounding and
captivating live show. After all that’s what their
fans have come to expect, and they have worked hard for
that. |
