The Tanchanco clan have time and again have shown their special talents in very diverse fields like government service,(Felipe and Jesus), sports, (Mario in sepak takraw) and culture and arts.

THE FIELD OF MUSIC

KALA- one of the hottest bands in the Phillipines at present. Brian(second from left) and John Paul (JP center) are Tanchancos that we can all be proud of.

Felipe's great grandchildren, grandchildren of Catalino and son of Sonny, John Paul (JP) and Bryan have shown their prowess in the music scene. Together with friends William Gabaldon, Raymond Daylo and Mike Grape they have created the rock band Kala. It did not take long for their music to be accepted by the public. Kala's music which is classified as "Manila Sound Rebirth" have brought back the rhytm of the 70's bringing back the groove to OPM.

Kala had been performing at various venues in support of Rock Ed Philippines, which promotes nation-building through music. They released an EP last year entitled RockEdition: For the Benefit of the Filipino Youth to promote the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals and support the Global Call to Action Against Poverty. "Music is the purest language that we can use to reach out to individuals and unite them to make a difference in themselves.

John Paul and Brian are really Tanchancos that we can all be proud of.
