Installation
Unzip the installation file Setup.exe of JCreator in a temporary
directory and follow the steps for the Setup Wizard.
Setting up JCreator with the Java Development Kit (JDK)
Make sure you have the Java Development Kit suite installed from
Sun, instead of the Java Runtime Environment.
- Installation of the Java Development Kit from SUN
- Version 1.5: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp ,
click JDK 5.0 Update 5.
- You will be forwarded to the download page.
- Where you download the file jdk-1_5_0_05-windows-i586-p.exe
- Install the jdk in the default directory "C:\Program
Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_05\"

- Download the file jdk-1_5_0-doc.zip
- Unzip the archive in the directory
"C:\..\jdk1.5.0_05\"
- After the installation, start JCreator.
- Follow the steps of the setup wizard to set the paths
"C:\..\jdk1.5.0_05\" and
"C:\..\jdk1.5.0_05\docs"
- If you have skipped the setup wizard
- Open the options window via the configure menu.
- Select the JDK Profiles pane.
- Select the default item from the list and press the edit
button.
- Set the JDK Home path by pressing the browse button next to
it.
- Browse to the root directory of the JDK installation.

- On the Profile Settings dialog box, check to see if the Name
field contains the version of the selected JDK directory.
- Select the documentation tab and check if the list includes
the path to "C:\..\jdk1.5.0_05\docs"
- Close the windows.
- Create a test project.
- Open the project wizard via the menu File > New
- Select the template "Basic Java Application"
- Compile and run the project by pressing F7 and F5 on the
keyboard.
