If you travel to the island of Guadalcanal in the Solomon chain of islands, you can view this memorial dedicated to those who died there. Or you can click on this link and save the long trip.

 

Below are two pieces of Japanese WW2 currencies. The top bill was taken from a dead Japanese soldier as a souvenir. It was picked up by a couple of Radio Strikers who were milling around ashore. I probably paid a buck for the two pieces.
