December 9, 2006...WEEKEND SPLIT KEEPS TIGERS IN 8TH
The Streetsville Tigers split games this past weekend keeping them in 8th place in the Bantam West AA division. Friday night’s game with the Vaughan Panthers resulted in a 2-0 victory for the Tigers but it was costly with the loss of Mark Shiozaki late in the game to a hitting from behind penalty. That meant that Shiozaki would not be available for Saturday’s big game against the 7th place Etobicoke Canucks. Before the questionable call, Mark had scored the 1st and winning goal for the Tigers early in the 3rd period. Ryan Johnston scored the empty net goal at the end of the period to round out the scoring. On Saturday the Tigers needed a victory over the Etobicoke Canucks to take sole position of 7th place, moving up one place in the division.
