October 10, 2008...TIGERS TROUNCE THE ICE DOGS 6-1

The Streetsville Tigers are back to .500 on the season after a one-sided victory over the Toronto Ice Dogs. The Tigers dominated play with there superior speed and playmaking. In what we hope is a positive trend the Tigers have been winning and losing in bunches.

Mack Deman opened the scoring for the Tigers after just 31 seconds. With lightning reflexes he adeptly pounded in aloose rebound past the startled Ice Dogs goaltender. David Gallo took at turn at lighting up the goal light by finishing a nice cross pass into the empty net. Gallo seems steady on the blades after suffering a severe ankle injury. Some aggressive physio and good home cooking (thanks Sandy!) seemed to have expedited his recovery, no doubt a few goals makes the pain go away too.

With the 2-0 lead the Tigers continued to pester the Ice Dogs goalie but he seemed to be up to the challenge until Dustin Hayward scored a power play goal low to the short side. That closedout the scoring in the 1st period with the Tigers leading 3-0.

The Ice Dogs scored the 1st goal in the 2nd period but the Tigers Jeremy Hunt returned the favour by burying Ray Cadeau's rebound. The line of Hunt, Cadeau and Deman displayed lightning speed throughout the night, to the displeasure of the Ice Dog players. David Gallo scored his 2nd of the game on the powerplay after some nice passing by Dustin Hayward and Mark Shiozaki.

In the 3rd period Ray Cadeau scored his 2nd goal on a nice feed from Deman ending the scoring and the game. All and all a consistent game for the Tigers. Next game will beack at the newly renovated Vic Johnston Arena on Thursday where they will face the Mississauga Hornets.
