January 4, 2008...TIGERS OPPONENTS LIKE A "SHARKS" OUT OF WATER The Tigers returned to regular season play Friday night at Centennial Arena in Etobicoke to face the Humber Valley Sharks. While the Tigers dominated play from the opening whistle they were unable to score until early in the 2nd period when Sean Corvetti fired in the rebound on a shot from David Johnston. David Gallo continued his hot scoring streak making it 2-0 with a nice effort in front of the net, burying the rebound on a shot by Kyle Morrison. At 521 David Johnston got one of his own with a hard snap shot that found the 5 hole. The Tigers went up 4-0 when David Gallo scored his 2nd of the game with the Tigers shorthanded. The 3rd period was pretty much the same with Dustin Hayward scoring on a nice feed from Adam Galbraith and Ray Cadeau rounding out the final score with a goal while lying on his belly. Justin Iskra displayed his usual fearless play but was most noticeable while the Tigers were shorthanded near the end of the game. Conor Clarke earned the shutout. He made his 1st shot of the game (not until the 2nd period) quite spectacular to keep the Tigers supporters on their toes. Tigers now face the Terriers Sunday night at Vic Johnston Arena. |
