February 27, 2008...TIGERS STAY ALIVE WITH 4-4 TIE IN GAME 3 AGAINST THE LIGHTNING

Wednesday evening may be a literal turning point for our Tigers as they came back in the 3rd period from a 3-1 deficit and tied the series leading West Mall Lightning 4-4. The game started very similar to the previous 2 with the Tigers falling behind early in the 1st period as the Lightning scored the 1st goal of the game on the power play. Kyle Morrison responded with a blistering wrist shot from just inside the Lighting blueline that handcuffed the Lightning goalie. The 2nd period saw the Lightning take a 2 goal lead leaving the Tigers supporters reminiscing about the great season that the Tigers had this year.

As the Zamboni cleared the ice for the 3rd period the Tigers pondered their fate behind closed doors. Soon the zamboni made it's final pass and it was time to get down to business. David Johhston started the Tigers comeback with a quick wrist shot from the left point to make it 2-3. Just over 2 minutes later Ryan Johnston hustled around the Lightning net and performed a perfect wrap around to tie the score 3-3. Just over 30 seconds later Davis Stan buried the puck into the net from close in to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead. Both teams played tenaciously for the final 6 minutes with the Tigers holding a slight edge. It was however the Lightning who capitalized with only 46 seconds left to give them the tie 4-4.

With that tie the Tigers find themselves down 5 points to 1 point, with the first team reaching 6 points advancing to the semi-finals. The tie also allows for the return of Joey Timpano and Mark Shiozaki who watched anxiously from the stands. Ray Cadeau also sat out the game with an injury. His status is day to day.

GO TIGERS!!!!!
