December 28, 2007...TIGERS BACK ON THE ICE AT OAKVILLE TOURNAMENT After a few days off over the Christmas holidays the Streetsville Tigers were back on the ice on Friday for 2 games against the out of towners from St. Catharines and league rivals Mississauga Terriers. With thoughts of turkey, cranberry sauce, PS3, Haloc.still fresh on their minds it was no wonder they came out more like kittens than Tigers. They quickly found themselves down by 2 goals at no fault of Conor Clark who kept the Tigers within striking distance. With their backs against the wall Adam Galbraith started the comeback with a shot that he roofed after an adept pass from Davis Stan with just over 1 minute remaining in the 2nd period. At 11:53 of the 3rd period David Gallo scored his 1st of 2 goals after finishing a beautiful 3-way passing play from Galbraith and Kyle Morrison. The St. Catharines team came right back and took a 1 goal lead but 31 seconds later Gallo scored again. That made the final score 3-3. In the evening game the Tigers faced the Mississauga Terriers who won their 1st game against Oshawa. The 1st period was a bit scrambly with gBearh Emanuele stopping all shots. The Terriers seemed to be playing confidently after their victory in the morning and charged hard into the corners to pick up any loose pucks. gCaptainh Corvetti led the D with some effective take outs as well as taking a few tough hits for the team. In the 2nd period Ray Cadeau jammed in a loose puck after Kyle Morrison fired a shot from close in. 2 minutes later Dustin Hayward scored on the power play on a nice pass from Davis Stan. Another 2 minutes later David Gallo scored on the power play after firing a low shot to the short side. And another 2 minutes later Ray Cadeau scored his 2nd goal of the game after on a rebound from a shot by Brendan Post. That gave the Tigers a 4-0 lead after 2 periods. The 3rd period was pretty much the same with the Tigers dominating play and outskating the tired Terriers. David Johnston score from the point and David Gallo scored his 4th goal in 2 games to round out the scoring after receiving a nice pass from Ray Cadeau. The final score was 6-1 leaving the Tigers 1-1-0 heading into Saturdays action.
