March 24, 2007…TIGERS ARE KING CLANCY TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS IN A DOUBLE OVERTIME NAIL BITER The Streetsville Tigers were crowned King Clancy Champions after defeating the Ted Reeve Thunder 2-1 in a double overtime nail biter. Ryan Johnston ended the game and the 06/07 season with a picture perfect shot after being set-up by Dustin Hayward. The game was full of heart stopping moments for supporters on both sides including a late goal in the 3rd period with only 53 seconds left by the Thunder to send the game into overtime. 4 minutes before this Adam Galbraith had vaulted the Tigers into the lead after many frustrating attempts. The Thunder’s goaltender was a stand-out throughout the entire game, blocking all attempts by the Tigers. After just failing to make the playoffs this season the Tigers players were definitely looking to find a way to redeem some of the lulls they experienced this past year. Before they even registered in the tournament however, Coach Canavan required that each player continue their commitment to the team program. Under the leadership of Mike, Matt and Rob the Tigers delivered and proudly return home as Champions. Congratulations to the all of the Bantam AA Streetsville Tigers for a great year and continued success in the upcoming 2007/2008 season.
