March 17, 2007...TIGERS MARCH ON WITH A 6-1 VICTORY IN THE QUARTERFINALS
Saturday afternoon saw the Streetsville Tigers faced an old rival from the regular season play, the Vaughan Rangers. With Spring just around the corner and March Break coming to an end it would have been easy for our Tigers to be distracted. But it only took a couple of minutes before Nick Wallace sent an early message that they came to play by waltzing into the Ranger zone and firing a hard wrist shot past the goalie on the glove side. Less than a minute later @ 12:25, Justin Iskra scored again on the glove side, this time roofing it after taking a perfect pass from Jace McGrath. This goal was scored while the Tigers had a 2-man advantage. 49 seconds later Ray Cadeau scored again for the Tigers after being setup by Ryan Johnston giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead. Adam Galbraith got into the action with his new weapon of mass destruction by hammering in the rebound on another Tigers powerplay. That ended the 1st period with the Tigers holding a 4-0 lead.

After such a surge of goals early in the game, the Tigers were unable to score until Justin Iskra scored at 13:33 of the 3rd period. Then at 12:58 Ryan Johnston made it 6-0.

Unfortunately for Conor Clark the Rangers scored at 9:40, breaking his shutout on a deflected floater from the point. Up until that point Clark had frustrated the Rangers team with a solid game between the pipes. Of note as well was the effort of Captain Sean Corvetti who on more than one occassion took one for the team (he handed out a few special deliveries himself).

The Tigers now play in the semifinals on Thursday.
