TIGERS TROUNCE THE KNIGHTS 7-0 BY USING THE "BEAR" NECESSITIES

After a close game on Tuesday night the Streetsville Tigers faced the undefeated North York Knights. This was the final game of the round robin series in their division. With little time to recover the Tigers would be looked to continue their winning ways.

In the 1st Period, after just 37 seconds Ray Cadeau pounced on a loose puck in front of the Knights net and jammed past a startled goaltender. Undaunted the Knights pressed and started to utilize their physical edge by playing the man and clogging the neutral zone. "Bear" Emanuele was solid between the pipes for the Tigers, blocking all attempts by the Knights. At the 4:00 minute mark Adam Hiscock scored for the Tigers on a shot that went over the goalie off a rebound from Ryan Johnston’s shot. 1 minute later Riley Skyba adeptly deflected a shot from Mark Shiozaki from the point, making it 3-0 for the Tigers after 1 period.

I'm not sure what happened to Ray Cadeau to start the 2nd as this time it took him more than 1 minute to score from an opening face-off. At 13:26 Cadeau out hustled all players and slid the puck under the goalie.

Less than a minute later at 12:48 Jace McGrath rushed up the ice, cut to the middle and fired a low wrist shot to the far side. That ended the scoring for the 2nd period making it 5-0 for the Tigers.

Going into the 3rd period the story was the play of Adam Galbraith who was handicapped with a borrowed stick from Riley Skyba. With Riley being the only other left handed shot on the team and Adam breaking his own leftie, Galbraith had no choice. Out came the extra large lumber, reminiscent of the Giant California Sequoia. With fear of putting a hole in the roof of the Carnegie Centennial Arena, Galbraith was unable to take anymore face-offs. To makes things even more complicated depth perception was hindered by the low lighting levels in the corners, causing Galbraith to harpoon himself each time he forechecked to opposing Knights players (okay maybe I’m embellishing a bit!!!). Despite this Adam opened the 3rd period with goal from close in. By choking down on the carbon fiber shaft and taking out 3 defenders with his butt end, he bunted the puck with perfection past the goaltender and into the net.
