The Streetsville Tigers continued their winning ways with a decisive win against the Toronto Aeros last night at the Bayview Arena 7-2. While dominating in their 1st 2 games in the Clancy Tournament the Tigers were coming off a hard fought 2-0 win against the Mississauga Hornets. In the 1st period the Tigers held a slight edge in play to the credit of the Aeros, who seemed to be a much better team then the one who lost to the Mississauga Braves the other night. With the play go from one end to the other the Aeros scored the 1st 2 goals of the game at 6:17 and 3:05. If the Tigers weren't aware that they were in a game after the 1st Aeros tally they certainly knew it was wakey wakey time after the 2nd goal. Actually their play wasn't bad but an inability to finish around the net was coming back to haunt them again. In between periods coach Canavan(s) and Emanuele had a little chat with the boys. They lined up for the opening face off and 6 seconds later Ray Cadeau scored the 1st Tigers goal on a nice rush right off the drop of the puck...someone was listening!!! That goal put the Tigers right back in the game and seemed to renew their confidence. With 8:13 remaining in the period Ryan Johnston was set-up perfectly by Dustin Hayward to tie the game at 2-2. The Tigers continued to press and started executing the practice drills with finesse leading the go ahead goal by Adam Hiscock at 4:47. It was an adept deflection of a shot from David Canavan. Soon after the goal Mark Shiozaki took the hardest hit of the game when he threw his body against the boards to try and block a clearing pass, re-injuring his left knee. The Tigers continued to pressure the Aeros throughout the period. At 4:07 Ryan Jonhston scored his 2nd goal of the game on a pass from Dustin Hayward. the 2nd period ended wth the Tigers leading 4-2. In the 3rd period Sean Corvetti wanted a piece of the action and decided to wind up in his own end and skate down the ice like a freight train, pressing by the defense clearing it into the Aeros end and capitilizing on a pass right in front of the net. 5-2 Tigers. The Aeros scored their 3rd goal of the game at 3:27 but only seemed to get under the Tigers skin. Nick Wallace completed a perfect pass from Justin Iskra with a "one-timer" into the net. 18 seconds later Jace McGrath and Raymand Cadeau teamed up with a little tic tac toe of their own with Jace finishing off the pin point passing making the final score 7-3.
