Jan 18, 2007...TIGERS LOSE A CRUCIAL GAME AGAINST THE 8TH PLACE TOROS With the final playoff spot within their grasps the Streetsville Tigers prepared to battle the 8th place York Toros in a pivotal "4=point game". Despite this the Tigers came out rather flat while the Toros were determined to stick to their game plan. While te the Tigers had the early advantage in scoring chances they were unable to put the rubber in the net, a disturbing trend of late. The Toros were the 1st to get on the scoreboard. The Tigers once again were provided with many opportunities including several power-plays but to no avail. the only time the were able to get the puck past the goaltender it was called back as the ref determined that the puck was directed into the net by Jace McGrath's skate. The Toros scored their 2nd and final goal of the game after the Tigers were unable to clear the puck out of their end. The Tigers did respond momentarily but the Toros goaltender closed a wide open net to rob the Tigers of scoring. Tigers now have a difficult uphill battle to acquire that crucial final spot. Despite some difficult games ahead against the league leaders, the Tigers seem to play their best against these difficult teams.
