Jan 13, 2007....TIGERS GO 0-3 VERSUS THE TORONTO ROYALS Despite another strong team effort the Tigers were not successful in acquiring any points against the rival Toronto Royals. The final score 6-3 was not indicative of the how Tigers played, but as has been the case lately a lapse in the 3rd period was their demise. The Tigers came out in the 1st period with aggression and determination, similar to their game against the 1st place Eagles last Thursday. Raymond Cadeau scored the 1st goal of the game to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. The Royals tied the score on the power-play to end the period 1-1. Matt Raleigh buried his 1st of 2 goals on the evening after Dustin Hayward made a key body check on the Royals defender to free up the puck for Adam Hiscock who fired it towards the net to a waiting Raleigh. The Royals continued to press and were successful on another power-play and then took the lead with 7:53 remaining in the 2nd. Matt Raleigh responded 30 seconds later with goal number 2 in the game from the crease area after Hiscock fired one on the Royals goaltender who was unable to smother the puck. The 3rd period was a frustrating affair as the Royals came out hungry and clearly were the more aggressive team. Their efforts paid off as the Tigers struggled to execute their game plan and scored 2 goals, 1 power-play and 1 short-handed goal. The scoring was rounded out with an empty-net goal making it 6-3 in favour of the Royals.
