The Streetsville Tigers started the month of February acquiring a critical point in the quest to gain a berth in the playoffs. After going 2-8 in their last 10 games against some of the league leaders, every point will bring them closer to either the York Toros or Etobicoke Canucks. Mathematically the Tigers can gain on both teams but they will need some help from their rivals to have a chance. Actually during their most recent 5 game losing streak the Humber Valley Sharks tied them for 9th in the standings although the Tigers did hold a 2 game advantage. In Thursday nights the Vaughan Rangers and Tigers played to a 3-3 tie. Adam Galbraith making a recent return from the injury list was taking full shifts and it helped the skating game of the Tigers considerably, not to mention on the scoring sheets as he potted his 1st goal since returning. Other scorers for the Tigers were Nick Wallace on a shot that caught the short side and Dustin Hayward who has been one of the Tigers better players of late. Honourable mention to Jace McGrath and Ryan Johnston who continue to pound the opponents into submission, both willing to take a few and dish out a whole bunch. Every game is critical, the next on Saturday against the Mississauga Braves.
