PORT MULGRAVE—A seaport on the west side of the Strait of Canso, township of Milford, county of Guysborough. It has one of the most extensive fishing ports in the province, and the harbor is open at all seasons of the year. Gold bearing quartz has recently been discovered in the vicinity. A steam ferry plies to Port Hawkesbury, across the strait. Western Union Co. has an office here. Distant from Port Hawkesbury, a landing of the Pictou and Boston steamers, 1 ˝ miles, fare 12 1/2c., from Guysborough 24 miles; mail daily. Population 400.
