Memories

We had the best April Fool's Day joke played on us ever! The police officer in the picture came over to our house. We were all called to the living room and we all had to sit together. As the officer began speaking Polish, we were all puzzled and had no idea what was going on. When the Polish began getting worried, so did we. I still to this day don't really know what really happened, but it was scary! Luckily we later found out that the police officer was one of the missionary's father and it was just all a joke!

After playing games and singing songs, the girls and boys divided up. The girls went upstairs and did a bible study and the boys stayed downstairs and did their bible study. We talked about our faith and we had a chance to discuss our lives her and listen to them tell us about their lives there. We built some good relationships. The first few nights were pretty mellow, but by the last night there were no dry eyes and many of the girls had really good testimonies. By the end of the week three girls decided to accept Jesus as their savior.

Some of the boys that came over to our house really enjoyed breakdancing. They invited us to come watch them practice. They showed us some interesting moves and even tried to teach us some. Although many of us were not very talented at breakdancing, they were really nice and we still learned a few moves.

The final day we were in Borne Sulinowo the team and some good friends walked to the lake. We were able to really bond and get some pictures. The lake was beautiful and the scenery around it was incredible. This picture was taken on the stairway behind the lake.

Sydney's birthday! Even though it was Sydney's birthday, we all had a blast eating her birthday cake, buying her gifts, and making her the princess of the day. The cake was delicous and the real fruit on the top was something both different and tasty. Everyone sang to her in both English and Polish. Sydney's eighteenth birthday was extra special!

All our flights went great! There was only delay. After driving five hours from Borne Sulinowo to Berlin we were now ready to hop on our flight. We were pretty early and after getting into the airport and sitting down we found out we were going to be delayed a hour. Everyone was tired and bored. Luckily we had some entertainment after two of our teammates fell asleep. A girl pulled out some make-up and we added some facial hair and faults on their faces. The Germans were laughing with us, it was great!

The saturday before we left the team and missionaries went to Sezchinek. We were able to shop around and view Poland outside of Borne Sulinowo. Many of us bought many cool souveniers for our family and friends. It was great getting out of town for the day and spending time with the team.

One of the craziest things we did while we were there was shaved Brian's head. He wasn't scared at all and just sat their quietly as we shaved all his hair off. There was quite the crowd in the bathroom watching his hair fall. When almost all his hair was gone he finally said something. "What about prom?"

Everyone there was really nice and really wanted to get to know us. Everywhere we went people were asking us who we were, what we like, where we live, and most commonly they asked us for our autographs. They had us sign everything. I even happened to sign a girl's homework assignment.

Monday through Friday we went to the schools. On Wednesday and Friday we got to see some fun and interesting plays. The kids really showed their imaginations and acting talents.
