Let's first look at my own Astrological Sign, or
should I say signs. By traditional Zodiac,
my birth sign is Pisces. According to some, any one born in Pisces
loves to dream, and are very creative. They are very emotional and
romantic. This is why most of my stories are filled with drama and
hints of things to come.
However, according to sidereal Zodiac, I am actually
an Aquarius.
Now, sidereal includes one extra constelation in it, and that is of Ophiuclus,
the serpent bearer. Not many people realize that path the Earth takes
through the Zodiac passes through this thirteenth constelation. Now
Aquarius people also have a creative nature, as well as entertaining.
Again, this points towards a love of writing.
Now, we have looked at the Tradition Zodiac, but
what about other Zodiacs. There are other Zodiac other than the traditional
one. One of the most well know Zodiacs, other than Traditional, is
the Chinese Zodiac. Now, my birth year, 1975, is the year of the
Rabbit.
The Rabbit is a quiet person, lucky, and also safety minded. They
are also creative people. Another pointer to a love of writing.
Lets also look at the Native American Zodiac.
According to their zodiac, I am a Wolf. At first, one would think
that the wolf is a drastic opposite to the Rabbit, but that is not the
case. In Native American beliefs, the Wolf Spirit is intuitive, and
a personality of one of those individuals is that of creativity.
Another pointer to a love of writing.
Now, after looking at the Zodiac, let's look at other
beliefs. Numerology for one. Part of Numerology states that
the day of the month one is born on has an impact on their life.
I was born on the 8th day of the month. Those
born on 8 have a gift for business, and can plan on
a grand scale. Some are even attracted to law, writing and science,
and have a good eye for detail. Another point to a love of writing.
Now, according to some each day of our lives can
be dictated by a playing card. Mine is apparently the 2 of Spades.
From what I have read about this, people who are associated with the two
of spades are able to influence the public. Cooperation is their
forte. They have a keen mind for business and finance, and career
choices are often unusual. They also find satisfaction and recognition
in their work. Well, this could be true about me, since I find satisfaction
in my writings, and I also enjoy the Apprentice.
Now, all these factors can point to my love of writing,
however, who are my muses. Well, if one looks at the classical Greek
definition of the Muses, one would think it is one of nine. Specifically,
Calliope (sometimes Kalliope)
who is the muse of heroic stories. Since most of my stories are drama,
with a definate heroic theme to it, she would be perfect muse for me.
However, muses can come in all forms, ages and sizes.
I have three other muses at this time. The
first is a redhead who captivated my mind since I first saw them.
To me, and most everyone else, her name is Yvette
.
She is also known as Penance. She is the silent member of the group
known as Generation X, however she will be joining a group called the Loners.
Ever since I had seen her, something about her had preoccupied my mind.
It drove me to write, and even when a story takes too long to complete,
she steps into my dreams and pleads with me to finish the story.
Since that time, Yvette has found a way into most of my stories, in some
way or form, and always paired with a character named Richard.
The second muse is my wife, Sarah
.
For those who know me well, they know that my wife came into my life just
at the right time. We met online in March of 2002, and first met
in person in April 2002. A few months after we met, I was laid off
from my job, and if it wasn't for her, I would have taken drastic actions.
By December of that year, I knew she was right for me, and I popped the
question. In May 2005, we got married, and since then, we have been
happy with each other.
The third muse is the most recent one. Her
name is Emma, and she is adorable. She became a muse even before
she was here, driving me to persue a writing venture. As of the time
I write this, the venture is in the works, and Emma is in our lives.
If you haven't figured out, Emma is my first child
.
She was born December 21, and has been a gem. It is her arrival that
has me hoping my writing venture turns into a source of income.
Also, watching over my writings is another figure.
That is the patron saint of writers, St Lucy.
I wear a pendant of St. Lucy. She is also the patron saint of those
who suffer from sight problems, including blindness and near-sightedness.
Currently, I wear two other pendants, as well as a stone for Pisces.
The other two are for St Joseph, the patron saint of fathers, and Dymphna,
the patron saint of epileptics and other mental problems.
Now you all know what drives me, and what makes my creative mind tick. If you know me, most of this won't be a surprise. If you don't everything about me, then you have learned a bit about me.
