Shuttles and Taxis
Mood:  special

Well this is my first blog entry. Can you believe it?? I've been surfing the net for over 10 years now, my wife and I met on the net via Email. And now, December 26th 2007 I finally get into this 'blog' thing.

Well , anyway, on with the subject... Shuttles and Taxis. What can I say. I drive a shuttle myself, I've just bought a newer one in order to continue operating at the airport who have imposed a 10 year age ban on older vehicles. But to get to the point, who has ever been in a taxi and sat there staring at the meter waiting for each dollar to click through?? Well you don't get that problem with shuttles because the price is quoted before you start your trip. For the driver this is really cool because nobody ever argues about the price afterward. As a shuttle is usually 'bigger' than a taxi and can cater for up to 11 passengers, even charging each couple or person half the normal taxi rates, you usually end up with more money out of a trip as you can take several people at once and drop them off at different places. So what if you have to sometimes sit in the queue at the airport for 4 or 5 hours, at least you may get a good trip with a full van load and make over 150 dollars while a taxi could get through in say 2 hours and only get 45 dollars.

There's a thousand things I could tell you about shuttles and their drivers but I'll just leave this as a starting entry only. I'm not sure how this blogging thing works, but I'd imagine that anyone reading this is able to reply to it, so I'll see where we go with this.
