Culture and Beauty

The exuberant and Majestic Mayan Culture, with a history dating back more than 2000 years, flourished in the Mesoamerican region comprised today by countries of, Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

One of the Mayan Culture´s most recognized and better known advancements is their grand architecture, reflected in the beautiful pyramids or ceremonial centers, suck as Palenque and Chichen Itza ( Mexico), Uxamal ( Honduras), Tikal( Guatemala ), and most recently the discovery in El Salvador of Joyas de Ceren , named patriarque of humanity by UNESCO.

The Maya´s wisdom, cultural richness and advanced knowledge is found in many areas: in scriptures and hieroglyphics inscribed on deer or rabbit skin; in mathematics not only with discovery of the number zero (0), but also an advance counting system by fives and twenties, where the number one was represented by a circle, and the number five by an horizontal bar.

Richness wisdom and the advances in different areas, including literature, astronomy, medicine, grammar, mathematics, commerce, and the great contributions to the sciences and mathematics with the discovery of the number zero(0), represented by a shell, are some aspects that give this culture the name of a Great Civilization and position the Mayan Culture as one of the great cultures of the world.

The spirit of the all-powerful Teotl Mayan Deities prevail in the immense and monumental ruins that hide the mysteries and wisdom of Quetzalcoatl, Tonatiuh, Chac Mool, Tlaloc, Kuculcan, Kinich-ahan, Yxchel and Xochipili.

Meanwhile, in our modern times, the world continues to benefit from and advanced calendar, from products like the cacao, corn, beans, among other items the number zero in mathematics and other learnings, all a legacy from a great civilization called.
