The word Sanctify means "to set apart." According to God's Word, to be Sanctified is to be set apart from sin and the world completely unto holiness and God. It is for this purpose that God's son Jesus came and died on a cross.

"who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness"-- 1 Pet 2:24

In speaking of this Sanctification and being set free from the slavery to sin, Jesus said that it was the "Truth" that would accomplish this sanctification within us.

"Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.... If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth,  and the truth shall make you free."-- John 8:31-34

In contrast, it is deception and lies that keep people bound in sin. They refuse to "love the truth" so God allows them to live in their deception and believe a lie which will condemn them.   

".....with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie that they all may be condemned"-- II Th 2:10-11

God is the author of this truth and it is He that will wield this truth in your heart to sanctify you completely. It is our prayer that you would let go of the lies, cling unto God and "love the Truth!"

"Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."-- 1Thes 5:23
