WIRELESS ROUTER
GENERAL INFO
There are two ways to connect a laptop to the Internet access
equipment:
1.
Directly
with a Ethernet cable connected from the laptop to the modem
This
instruction will cover only the wireless connection instructions
THE INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER
In either case above,
you must buy the Internet access from the modem to the outside world from an Internet Service Provider (ISP). The Internet Service Provider usually provides
the modem and cables, and if you go wireless, you must purchase the wireless
router hardware and software.
THE MODEM
The modem is
connected to either a telephone jack or a TV outlet depending on which Internet
Service Provider you use.
THE WIRELESS ROUTER
The wireless
router is connected to the modem identified above with an Ethernet cable
