My name is Richelle Hirata and I grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is my second
year here at UH and so far, it’s been a good experience. I am still undecided
about my future plans and my educational focus. When I first started college, I
was a pre-business maj
or.
I then changed my mind and wanted to be a pharmacist. I started taking a
combination of science and business prerequisites and then applied to the
College of Business Administration. As of right now, I have decided to be a
finance major and after I earn a degree in finance, I plan to apply to pharmacy
school to become a pharmacist.
My computer that I have at home is a Dell. I use it to do homework, surf the internet, shop online, and play games. My experience with computers isn’t that vast. I know how to use programs such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. I can usually figure out how to use programs and how to install simple things. I took ICS 100 at KCC during the summer and since it was a semester crammed into a summer class.
I think that in finance, information technology is important because there are probably programs that help with analyzing and organizing financial information. Information technology would also be used to communicate with others in the job setting. I think that in pharmacy, it would also be used to communicate with others. It could also be used for research and to share findings with others in the field.
