A quick comment:     Back to G-1: Review A-X      Home Page

As always, transfans are eager whenever there is news about transformers get reissued regardless what line they are.  Unfortunately, for Encore #15, only Eject and Rewind were new reissue while Buzzsaw and Ravage were released with Soundblaster a couple of years back.  The good part about the Encore version of Buzzsaw and Ravage is that it omits the Fortress Maximus weakness sticker just like the original/ 1985 Ravage/ Buzzsaw.  I got this set for $LV on Apr Iii, Mmix from Image Anime.

R-0 Original Eject's motto and tech specifications:

Affiliate: autobots | Subgroup: none | Function: electronic survellance | Alt. Mode: micro 60 cassette |

| STR 6 | INTL 6 | SPD 2 | ENDN 6 | RNK 6 | CRG 8 | FRPW 5 | SKL 8 |

Original G1 Eject Motto:

"Clutch hitting is the key to an effective offense"

Original G1 Eject Bio:

An Earthen sports fanatic... sports cliches clutter his conversation; A surprise attack is a "fast break," a victory is a "touchdown." Few Autobots understand what he says, but they like the enthusiasm with which he says it. Could be a play-by-play announcer, if given the chance. In cassette mode, can monitor and record local radio and TV, decode scrambled signals, tap telephones. In robot mode, uses electrical overload guns. Sometimes his internal tape snaps when he's excited.

R-1 Eject in its Original condition:

ejectorig.jpg (78317 bytes)1 - Eject in its brand new condition from the box.

2 - Back of the box image.

3 - Here's how the content looks once the box was removed.

4 - These are all the contents that were included in the box/ package/ card: "1" Eject cassette, "1" Rewind cassette, "1" Ravage cassette, "1" Buzzsaw cassette, "2" thruster guns for Eject, "2" thruster guns for Rewind, "2" heat seeking missile, and "2" twin mortar cannons for Buzzsaw, "4" trading cards (Eject, Rewind, Ravage, Buzzsaw), "1" instruction sheet, and "1" miscellaneous sheet.

R-2 Pre-Applied Decals/ Stickers:

There are 8 Pre-Applied Stickers and 1 Tampograph on Eject.  The stickers are located:  2 for the legs, 2 for the shoulders, 2 for the lower arm, and 1 on the back.  The last sticker is the Autobot rub-sign located at the inner side of the right arm.  In the front of Eject chest, there is a small tampograph of the Autobot insignia.

Sticker Sheet:

The cassettes transformers do come with any sticker sheet.

R-3 Eject in Alternated Mode:

ejectcas1.jpg (50182 bytes)In cassette mode, Eject is a blue and gray micro 60 minute cassette whose dimensions is approximately 2" x 1 5/16" x 5/16" (LxWxD) while the clear cassette case is 2 1/4" x 1 9/16" x 1/2" (LxWxD).  If one looks quickly or not in closed up, one may mistakenly think it's a real cassette especially if inserted into the clear cassette case (middle bottom image).  His other looks alike Autobot companion, Rewind shares the same mold but with a different colors, black and gray.  Both Eject and Rewind are a mimic of the Decepticon's Rumble and Frenzy who are part of Soundwave's cassette army.  All of Blaster's cassettes were created to have some rivals with Soundwave's cassettes as well as more playing value for Blaster.  When not in use with Blaster, Eject can be stored inside his clear cassette case (bottom middle image).  Blaster, Twincast, Soundwave, and Sound Blaster cassettes are all interchangeable with one another.  Meaning, Blaster tapes can be put into Soundwave/ SoundBlaster/ Twincast and vice versa.

R-4 Eject Robot Mode:

ejectrob1.jpg (46740 bytes)Eject transformation is an improvement over its predecessor Rumble/ Frenzy.  That is, better articulation, head pops out would lock much, much better.  The head is released or locked by the shoulder peg.  Eject does not feature any die cast metal other the than plastic and spring inside his chest.  Overall, Eject looks great.

R-5 Eject with Weapon:

ejectrob2.jpg (54064 bytes)Eject comes with 2 thruster guns that can be stored on either side of his lower arm.  According to the card art,  Eject should have the capability to store his gun on his back just like Rumble and Frenzy.  But this is not possible since the holes are at his arm and not on the back like Rumble/ Frenzy. I guess the toy designer and the art illustrator didn't coordinate with one another.   In cassettes mode, there is no problem since both holes are at the center.

R-6 Which Transformation is corrected - the Card Art or the Instruction Sheet?:

ejectrob3.jpg (75115 bytes)Eject has one minor negative drawback setback which involves the transformation of his hand.  If one goes by the card art (right image) or the current Encore #15 Japanese instruction sheet, then Eject hands are transformed backward.  The pro is that the whole arm is well balance with the rest of the body and it's ease to the eyes.  If one goes by the original U.S. instructional sheet, the bump part of the lower arm (the hole where the gun is stored) should be rotated toward the correct side of the body not toward the rear of the body.  The pro is that hand is oriented correctly but the con is that it doesn't look right with that bump sticking out.

Special Notes:  Here are "2" special notes which I thought you should know:

1 - Due to the pull out leg transformation style, once the material wears out, Eject thigh will sink into his leg socket which makes him look short.  To avoid the problem, don't over transform him.

2 - To make the head pop out, be sure the shoulders are pull away from the chest.  And to lock the head back in, push the head in and at the same time push the shoulder to lock in.

Overall Grade: [A] - Despite its simplicity, Eject is one cool transformers.
