Interlude 6

Interlude 6
Zac walked into his house after spending the night in the tree house with his best friend, Joley. He was so confused about what they had done to him. He needed to speak to be with some one to help him deal. All he had asked for was for her to lie thee with him and she complied like she always has and always will.

He didn't know why someone would want to do those kinds of things to him. They were friends with his brother for god sakes. He didn't tell Joley anything, he couldn't bring himself to break the promise he made Taylor no matter how hurt he was about what Taylor had done to him.

Most days after he would spend the night with Joley he would be in a good mood but today he felt as bad as he did yesterday. He felt like he wasn't the same anymore. Any other day any other time before what had happened, he was not the same person he was only 24 hours before. It was like someone else jumped inside his body and was controlling him.

He had never felt hatred for anyone of his family members but now parted of him hated Taylor and that part would forever. He walked into the living room not sure what he was wandering for, he wasn’t sure why he was doing the things that he was doing.

Zac walked towards the stairs. He had decided that he was going to take a shower to wipe away the dirt some more. He still felt dirty, he still felt contaminated. As he walked up them the one person he prayed he wouldn’t see, started coming down them.

It was Taylor. They both stopped exactly where they were. Taylor felt guilty, so much guilt that he couldn't even face it. Zac on the other hand felt things, that he couldn't explain, couldn't understand in his 10- year-old mind. "Hey Zac," Taylor said quietly trying to do anything to just go back to the way they were.

Zac just stared at his brother. He didn't know what to say he just smiled half heartedly and continued up the stairs to the bathroom. He walked right by Taylor without even glancing his way. "I'm so sorry Zac," Taylor said to him as he closed the door behind him.

He leaned his head against it and cried for a moment out of hurt and confusion. He wished he understood what really happened. He removed his cloths and couldn't help but stair at his own preteen body looking at the marks, abrasions and bruises they had inflicted.

He graced over everything with his finger tips, knowing even at this fragile age that they were the just the surface of wounds that would never heal. They were the reminders of what he and Taylor once were.

Zac had spent most of the day in front of the TV, not really watching enough to know exactly what was going on, but enough to keep his mind of what had happened. He was there for awhile until Taylor walked in the room and Zac couldn't, just couldn't sit there with him.

He got off the couch and went upstairs to lay in his bed. As he walked threw the hall he saw Isaac with his door opened, playing with his guitar. Maybe he could talk to him. Maybe he would help him understand a little of what had happened. He stood in his doorway for a moment. "Oh hey Zac," Isaac said when he saw him, "What's up?"

"Uh.. Isaac can I talk to you?" he asked nervously.

"Yeah of course. What is it, what's wrong?" he sensed the nervousness in Zac's voice.

He knew something was wrong. "Umm what's a faggit?" he blurted out.

Isaac was very taken back by the question he was just asked. He would never have expected Zac to ask him a question like that. The more important thing though was why was he asking about it. "Umm well it's a slang word for someone who is gay. It's not very nice. Why?"

Zac ignored the question Isaac just asked. "What is fucking?" he asked.

Isaac would have choked had he had anything in his mouth. "Ughh Zac where did you learn that?"

Isaac felt nervous something wasn't right about this. "What is it Isaac?"

"It's something you do during sex."

Isaac explained the best he could, "Oh," Zac seemed to be thinking about what exactly it was.

"Isaac can a boy do that to another boy?"

Isaac throat went dry. There was still so much innocence in Zac's voice that a disturbing question like that seemed even more disturbing. "Yeah they can Zac. Why are you asking me these questions?"

Zac didn't know how to answer these questions that Isaac was asking back. He didn't even understand half of what he was asking. "Zac, if someone hurt you, you have to tell me!" Isaac said nervously catching Zac's eyes.

"I know."

"Did someone hurt you Zac?"

Isaac felt like hours had passed waiting for an answer from Zac. "No," he finally stated.

"Then why did you ask me something like this?"

"I heard older boys talking about it in the park."

Isaac didn't know if it was true, his gut was telling him there were pieces missing from that story. "Zac you ok?" he asked looking at the hurt in his little brothers eyes.

"Yeah," he whispered softly.

"You sure Zac?"

He nodded in response but Isaac saw that he was about tp cry. Isaac pulled him closer and hugged him. Zac just cried on his shoulder.
