Chapter 6

Joley
“I'm not doing dinner with them if Taylor is going to be there,” Zac said adamittly crossing his arms like a little baby.

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at his immaturity and I eyed him instead, “You promised me Zac.”

“I promised you I wouldn't fight with him not that I would go hang out with him.” I couldn't win.

When it came to me trying to improve his and Taylor's relationship nothing worked . All it ever lead to was the two of us fighting so I just knew I should drop it. Things had been weird between us all morning ever since I caught him saying those really mean things to Taylor. We had been walking around this afternoon and to warm up we decided to sit here in a little shop to have coffee and stuff.

I sipped my drink a little more as my mind started to wonder back to our discussion. It had to be me, how else could he say that he was in love with me since before we could ride a two wheel bike, but not be able to make love to me? Its not about the sex that hurts me, it's that he can't be close to me. I feel like if the only man that I have ever loved can't find me beautiful enough to sleep with then there must be something wrong with me. “What are you thinking about?” Zac asked me interrupting me from my thoughts.

“Us,” I said quietly looking at my coffee cup.

“Oh,” he replied.

I had to know, I had to make sure that I wasn't wasting my life here. “Zac?” I asked him still not looking at him.

“Yeah.”

“Is it me?” I finally made eye contact and he looked confused.

“Is what you?” I didn't know how to say it.

I felt that tightness in my throat. I felt the tears rush to my eyes and for the first time it actually hit me. What if the answer to this is the worst thing of all, that he really doesn't love me. “Jo Bear?” he asked touching my hand.

With the contact of his hands my tears did finally break and I began to cry. “Hey, what's the matter?” he said gently moving his chair so he was sitting next to me not across from me.

He was stroking the hair off my forehead as he picked my chin up, “Do you love me?” I blurted out.

He looked at me oddly for a second, “What?”

“Do you love me Zac?”

“Do I love you? What kind of question is that?” he sounded slightly annoyed. I need to know.

“Zac are you in love with me?” He closed his eyes and then let out a loud long breath.

“Of course I'm in love with you Joley. I wouldn't be living with you, I wouldn't be sleeping in the same bed as you, I wouldn't care this much when you cry,” I didn't say anything I just kept crying.

I felt relief, but I also felt hopeless. “Why would you ask me something like that anyway? What is this all about?” I was crying steadier now, it was gonna hurt to actually say out loud, but I knew that was what I needed to do.

“It's me then isn't it? You can't make love to me because there is something wrong with me,” I just blurted out.

I put my head down I couldn't look at him to see what he was going to tell me. “Baby,” he whispered as he grabbed my hands, “That has nothing to do with you, believe me, there is no one in this world that I would want to be intimate with more.” I sniffled.

“You really mean that?”

“Yeah, I think you are beautiful and sexy and ... we haven't made love yet because of me, not you ok?” I finally looked him in the eye. It hurt me because I knew he was hiding something in there.

I nodded though, I didn't want to push him. He wrapped his arms around me and I feel into his chest. He held me for a long time.

********
“You feeling better?” Zac asked me as he took my hand.

It was still very chilly out but not like yesterday. “Yeah,” I told him smiling in his direction.

He smiled back and brought my hand up to his mouth and kissed it. “Good, I hate seeing you upset.”

We walked slowly back to the apartment never letting go of each other’s hand. He caressed mine gently with his thumb making me feel secure with each gentle contact. “Do you really want to go tonight?” he asked me as we walked into the building.

“Yeah Zac, I really do. I haven't seen Rachel in a while and I think it would be nice,” he sighed but it wasn't an aggravated one.

“If you really want to go then its cool with me,” he said with a smile.

“Really? You mean that?”

“Yeah and you know what? Why don't we go out to a little club afterwards, just you and I. Its been a long time since we did something like that.”

“Baby,” I said wrapping my arms around his neck, “that’s such sweet idea.”

He shrugged his shoulders and laughed, “Well, I'm really just trying to seduce you.”

“Then I think it worked,” we both laughed and he leaned down and kissed me gently.

When he pulled away he looked me right in the eye as our foreheads touched, “I love you so much Jo Bear, don't you ever forget that.”

“I love you,” I whispered back and he picked me up and spun me around just he used to when we were kids. This time however, we understood what we felt and we knew we were in love.

Taylor
I was gonna be as civil as I could be tonight, not that I'm never not civil. That’s Zac's problem, he can't seem to even stand the sight of me. I have no idea what the hell it could be that would make him feel like that about me. “Taylor, you there?” Isaac asked me sitting back down at the table at the restaurant.

“Oh yeah, sorry. I was just thinking,” I told him.

“About?”

“Zac and I, our relationship is crap lately. It bothers me,” I confided in him. “Yeah I have noticed,” he said sarcastically.

“Thanks,” I snapped back.

“Listen, I don't know what Zac's problem is but you had to do something to make him feel this strongly.” Isaac told me as the waiter placed our drinks down on the table.

“But that’s just it Isaac, I didn't do anything to him.”

He took the bottle of Corona away from his lips, “I don't know what to tell you Tay, I'm as baffled as you are.” I sighed.

“Oh yum, my Strawberry Daiquiri is here,” Rachel said happily as she took her seat.

Isaac rolled his eyes as he finally placed the bottle on the table, “Daiquiris, those drinks are for wimps, why don't you drink something a little more manly?” She looked at him amused.

“Manly? Isaac it’s Corona, you talk to me about manly when you and are doing shots of Tequila later.”

“Hey, you know I can't handle Tequila.” Isaac never could.

Oh I remember those nights of him puking for hours from it. “Then, we’ll see who's the manly one biotch!” she joked. I laughed a little into my drink. “What did you get Taylor?” she asked me.

“A 007,” Isaac looked at me strange, “Its Bacardi Orange, Orange Juice and Sprite.” He just shook his head.

“Joley!” Rachel yelled getting up and walking towards a very dressed and may I add a very beautiful Joley gliding towards us. “You look fabulous,” Rachel told her hugging her.

“Thank-you,” she smiled.

Zac walked up behind her looking pretty dressed himself. He wrapped his arm around her middle, connecting them. It was that possessive grabbed the one that told everyone in then room, she's mine. “Look at the two of you,” Isaac said as Zac and Joley finally sat down.

“Zac is taking me out tonight after dinner,” she said lovingly as she looked at him.

“Oh that’s so sweet,” Rachel said.

Zac and Joley were very cute but it was quite sickening sometimes. “You look stunning Jo, you really do,” I told the beauty on my brother’s arm.

Zac had been leaning back into his chair and suddenly sat right up catching my eye. “She's not yours to be looking at,” he said nasty to me as he pulled the black cover closed over very low cut black top. “Zac!” she scolded throwing him a mean look and he back away instantly, mumbling something and glaring at me for a moment. Jesus what the hell as his problem. “So how long are you here for Rachel?” Joley asked her.

“The week-end, I came in last night and I'm leaving Monday.”

“That’s nice.”

“Yeah, it is. We get to spend a lot of time together when we can spend a few days just the two of us,” Rachel said patting Isaac who had pretty much finished his beer, on the shoulder.

He smiled at Rachel and I suddenly began to feel really lonely. I sighed and looked away from the moment that Rachel and Isaac we having. Thank god I was gonna see her soon. These next few days were gonna be the most draining days cause all I can do is wait for them. “So Taylor, what is so important that you had to interrupt me this afternoon?” Isaac asked annoyed.

He had broken me from my thought and I looked at him for a second before realizing what to say, “Oh, yeah, sorry about that.”

“Not as sorry as I am,” Isaac mumbled.

“Let it go Isaac,” Rachel chimed in, “you had plenty of sex before we got interrupted.”

“Sex, do we even want to know?” Zac said.

“I was kindly having hot, passionate, sweaty sex with my girl and he decided to not only call me and show up at the door, but to continuous ring the button and say the most disgusting things to hear while having sex. AND because of him I didn't even get to finish!” I laughed a little it was funny how upset about it he was.

“Oh stop being a baby, you most certainly got to finish a couple of times,” Rachel said to him. He went red and lowered his voice, “But this time would have been different. I would have, you know...” he trailed off.

“What Isaac? Got off while having anal?” Rachel was great because she was so comfortable sexual, that she had no qualms saying these things aloud.

“Rey!” Isaac yelled.

Zac choked on his drink and I just laughed, interrupting him during anal sex even funnier. “You guys were having anal?” Joley asked with a look of fascination in her eyes.

“Yeah,” Rachel answered and Joley just shock her head and looked back at Zac.

“Can we just drop the topic of us and sex?” Isaac asked annoyed I just kept laughing. “Anyway, Taylor,” he looked at me trying to get me to talk.”

“Genna is coming back,” I told everyone.

Zac was the only person at the table who knew anything about it. I couldn't hold back the smile. “Like baby and all?” Isaac asked.

“Of course Jason is coming. She isn't gonna leave him out there with that family.”

“How long is she staying for?” Joley asked with a smile.

“Indefinitely,” I told her smiling back.

“Oh thank god, there will be another woman around! That’s so awesome congrats Tay,” she said patting my hand and smiling and I couldn't shake the thoughts of how friggin beautiful she looked.

“What?” she asked obviously seeing me stare.

“I'm sorry, I just never noticed how beautiful you really are. You look so gorgeous tonight,” I said placing my other hand on hers.

“HEY!!!!” Zac yelled pushing my hand away roughly, “Don't look at her like that and certainly don't touch her like that.”

“It was a complement Zac, calm down,” Joley said annoyed.

“Complement my ass, it was inappropriate,” and if looks could kill I would be as dead as the dinner we were gonna eat.

“You need to calm down,” she told him, “Taylor I'm sorry about your jealous brother. Thank-you I appreciate the complement.” I smiled back but didn't say anything else.

********
“That was so good!” Isaac said rather loudly as he put his fork on his now cleared plate.

“Shhh,” Rachel said, “God, I don't think the whole place really gives a shit how good your dinner is!”

“Maybe Gary does!” We all looked at him strangely.

“Who's Gary?” I asked.

“You know it Gary's Steakhouse. Gary the owner, maybe he wants to know how much I enjoyed my meal so he could put me in a commercial. I am a celebrity you know,” Rachel closed her eyes and sighed.

“No more alcohol for you. Your done.”

“Hey!”

“No your acting like a moron and that tells me you have had way to much to drink,” She said throwing her napkin down.

“I only had three beers.”

“And your not having four!” “But...” he protested again and I moved my eyes off the two of them fighting and looked around the restaurant.

I didn't even want to put my eyes on Joley, Zac might stab me. I couldn’t help it though and as much as I couldn’t stand Zac right now, it was so beautiful. She had laid her head on his chest and he was holding her, whispering things to her that were private and between the two of them. It was suddenly that she got up from the position and looked at all of sitting at the table, “Excuse me, I need to use the restroom,” she said fixing her skirt as she walked away.

I knew I should just tell Zac I hadn’t meant anything by it. “Zac, about before I had not meant anything by it. She just looks beautiful.” He glared at me. “Well, I think you shouldn’t be looking at her like that.” he said with bitterness in his voice.

“But I wasn’t looking her as an object. She is your girlfriend and I would never cross that line,” I was trying to explain that I just thought she was beautiful. I didn’t have any other motive.

“Yeah, well, you just looking seems to get you in enough trouble,” he said with a shot of his eyebrow.

“What?” I had no idea what the hell he meant by that.

He crossed his arms over his body, “Forget it,” and he looked away.

“Do you really think that I would try something on Joley, honestly?” I couldn’t believe he was seriously thinking that I would try something on her.

“Who knows, you seem to like knocking young virgins!” he yelled.

I stopped for a second. What a god damn asshole, that was below the belt. I stare fiercely into his eyes and thought about jumping across the table and punching him. He didn’t know shit about what went on between me and Genna and he had no right to even mention it. “You’re such a bastard Zac! You really are,” he really wanted to punch him in his smirking face.

“Guys come on,” Isaac breathed next to me.

“Look at him Ike, he has that fucking grin on his face and I want to knock it right off. I do one god damn thing and he crawls up my ass.”

“TAYLOR!” Isaac yelled at me and I just blew him off.

“Listen here, you little shit, you better watch what you say to me because I can still beat you like I used to when we were kids.” I said. I had completely lost control of my temper.

Joley had walked back to the table and had stopped before she sat down. I was standing up and Zac was on the edge of his chair. I could see as much rage in his eyes as there was in mine. “No, Taylor you were always to chicken shit to do it. You’re friends used to do it for you,” his voice was so heavy that he sounded just like the devil growling.

How could he bring that up? How could he go back to the awful moment in our lives that we put behind us? “You little son of a bitch,” I yelled and tried to grabbed him across the table.

Isaac grabbed me from behind and pulled me back, “Come on pretty boy,” Zac said standing up gesturing me towards him with his hands.

“Guys!” Someone yelled.

I was enraged and I was trying as hard as I could to get away from the death grip Isaac had on my arm, “People are staring, sit down Taylor,” he was saying angrily in my ear.

“Oh, let him try Isaac. I’d kill him with one arm.” Zac spit at me.

“Go fuck yourself, you fucking bastard cause we all know your still to much of a baby to give it to your girlfriend,” I yelled as I saw Joley walk over to Zac, “Oh yeah, I heard the fight this morning you little fucker.”

He didn’t even look at her. She tried to touch him and he just pushed her away. I was ready for him to jump the table and let me just tell you I would be ready. “You’re all talk you faggit. You’re a horrible excuse for a brother, friend boyfriend and most of all a father. Jason would be better off without you in his life and who knows maybe he will end up hating you as much as I do!” Let me get my hands on him, I’ll break him in half.

“HOW DARE YOU!” I yelled almost finally breaking Isaac’s grip.

“ZAC PLEASE!” Joley yelled stepping in front of him.

“You shut your mouth!” he said yelling right in her face putting up his finger.

Everything stopped, all the commotion from moments before had just stopped. I saw the look of instant regret in Zac’s eyes, “Jo Bear, I’m sorry...” he said reaching out for her.

I wanted to see her smack him and I probably wouldn’t have been surprised if she had. She had hurt written deep in her eyes. She backed up and pushed his hand away, “Don’t touch me,” she warned.

“Please...” he said walking closer.

“How dare you scold me!” she yelled, “Your such as asshole,” she whispered instead.

I was taken back by her words. Joley never cursed like that... unless she was pissed. “What...” Zac looked around for someone to give him some kind of advise and he threw me another dirty look.

No one said anything, “Whatever then, Here you go,” he pulled money out of his wallet and threw it on the table, “I’m out of here,” and he left without Joley.

Nobody moved for a minute or so. It was so awkward that I just had to get away from it all, “I’m going to the bar, I’ll see you guys later,” I said getting up. I walked away as fast as I could.
