Welcome to Qubed Studios.

This site is home to Metroid Cubed and many others demos, games and utilities I built over the years.

This is a new layout, and it's a work in progress.

•Sorry for the lack of updates, the last few months have been rough for me. Fortunately its getting much better now :)

•Parts of the site may sometime be unavailable, excepted for Metroid Cubed which is always online.

•The site will have a major redesign soon and will move to its own host thanks to very friendly people.

•These changes will happen in the begining of 2006, in January if all goes well.

•Until then, I wish everyone nice and jolly Holidays , remember to have fun!

August 16, 2005

•Some updates to Metroid Cubed!

•New title screen, with "scrolling" stars.

•While the bosses are still unfinished, Ridley is now beatable (Kraid too), but they don't really die.

•You can now step and walk on frozen beasts like in the original!

•Added the laval balls found in Norfair. (They behave like in the Japanese version)

•New Screenshots! at last, the other ones were very old and graphics did improve over time.

•A friend of mine got ahold of the g4tv ATOTS episode where Metroid Cubed is featured. (thanks Kirk!)

•I now have an official forum at forums.e-mpire.com my nickname there is Starxxon.

•You can go to the forum to post comments and questions, people are very friendly there!

•Great news! This site will move to it's own domain name and host!

August 8th, 2005

•Welcome everybody! :)

•Today Metroid Cubed was featured on TV on the attack of the show on g4tv!

•Some other popular sites like digg.com linked to Metroid Cubed. The result is a ton of visitors!

•While I usually got 200-300 visitors each day in the last few months, today I'm over 10,000 hits!

•I don't have the g4tv channel so I won't be able to see the segment where Metroid Cubed is featured.

•If anyone reading this can record the part and digitize it to an MPEG movie, please contact me at ant00spammy@lycos.com (remove the word spammy)

•So while I don't feel Metroid Cubed is ready for prime-time, I cannot do much to stop the train of visitors :)

•An update is long due, a few key things are still missing, but it can be fun to play, it's about 92% complete.

•I guess that with all the people that saw Metroid Cubed now, I better start to work on version 1.0b!

•Don't forget to check my other demos, like the Peach's Castle Mario 64 Online Flying Demo.

•To play Metroid Cubed, click on the big green play button down there. Have fun!

•Happy Something!

•Sorry for the lack of updates (this is a WWW "cliché" phrase)

•I'll finish Metroid Cubed someday, but somehow I feel too much pressure to finish it.

•Meanwhile, I stumbled on the Super Mario 64 polygon data and decided to reverse-engineer it.

•In a few days I was able to decode the polygon data, then the texture data coordinates.

•The result is the Peach's Castle 64 Online Flying Demo.

•You can fly around the whole Mario 64 castle scene fully textured in your browser!

•In addition you can also fly around Level 1 and Cool Cool mountain!

March 27, 2005

•Happy Easter!

•I released a new version of Metroid Cubed!

•The level and sprite graphics were improved because of improvements the the voxel rendering process.

•All blocks were rerendered, and the sprites for Samus and enemies are now in 32-bit color.

•Gameplay though is not really improved for now and bosses are still incomplete.

•A new option,"Hog Processor" can be turned on for a faster framerate but slower background programs.

•The Hog Processor option can be problematic on some system, that's why it's turned off by default.

•I will release a standalone version of Metroid Cubed for Windows and Mac OS X in the next few days.

•The download will be around 12 megs, that's why I'm evaluating solutions for hosting.

•Please contact me if you can provide hosting for these files.

March 21, 2005

•Back officially online at the original site!

•Many things will change on this page hopefully soon.

•While I was off the internet, I used my spare time to build a working StarFox Level Editor prototype!

•There is a Windows and Mac OS X version to download, and an online demo as usual :)

•Don't worry Metroid Cubed fans, I will have something for you in the next few days.

Archived News can be found here.

Bugs in this version of Metroid Cubed still include:
•Varia suit doesn't change the suit's color.

•Enemies have less than perfect behaviors for now and can get caught in walls on rare occasions.

•Some cosmetic bugs regarding masking of blocks in front of Samus.

•Some timing issues.

•Bosses can be killed with one missile.
