Feral cats are everywhere! They come from people abandoning their pet cats/kittens, which breed and produce more feral/homeless kittens. My goal is to try to stop this overbreeding of feral cat populations. I plan to implement the TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return) program, as well as try to socialize and rehabilitate any cats/kittens that I can, then try to find suitable homes for them. I am currently trying to start this rescue up by myself, with a little bit of help from Hundred Cat Foundation, which is a local large-scale cat rescue and TNR. They focus on large scale rescues and do not accept individual surrenders. The only two other rescues around here are PAWS (which has a waiting list, which means that you could wait 2 or more YEARS to find a home for your cat/kitten!) and the SPCA, which unfortunately, can not take the time to socialize feral kittens or semi-feral cats, so their only other option is euthanasia. I am trying to start a small scale feral cat/kitten program to help as many cats/kittens as I can that PAWS and The Hundred Cat Foundation have to turn away or the SPCA has to euthanise. For the time being, I'm trying to raise funds/supplies to get this rescue started. If you would like to help, donations of clumping kitty litter, cat/kitten food (dry kibble and canned), litter boxes, cages, paper towels, gently used towels, food/water dishes and cat toys are greatly appreciated! Financial donations and donated gift cards for Petco, Wal-Mart, Lowes and grocery stores (Weis, Giant, or other local State College or Penns Valley stores that carry cat supplies) are also greatly appreciated. These donations will be going 100% to the feral/homeless cats of the Penns Valley area. I hope to add a donations page that shows exactly what individuals/businesses have donated and what their donations went towards.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to help the PV Ferals it can be sent to The Hundred Cat Fdtn, PO Box 10, Centre Hall, PA 16828. Include a note or mark the check with PV Ferals.
